Resolve to Show Others They Matter

By: Katie Myers Saturday January 24, 2015 comments

Whenever we are asked to share some of our tips and tricks for increasing customer loyalty our audience is surprised by what we have to say. They aren’t surprised because we give them brand new ideas they have never thought of, they are surprised because they can’t believe how easy it is to forget some of the basics.

The most important tip we give is reminded them that they are human and that their customers are also human. It may sound silly and sort of a “duh” statement but truly it makes you think about how you interact or don’t interact with your customers.

Some of the most important actions you can take towards increasing your customer loyalty are things that don’t require money or a process but simply require your attention and presence. The art of building a strong, long-lasting relationship and impression is to be a good listener. It proves to be quite difficult to be a good listener if you aren’t presenting your customers with the opportunity to be heard.

Pick up the phone and call your customers, or have a staff member or an outsourced service provider, it doesn’t matter who makes the call, what matters is that the caller listens to what they customer has to say. We as human beings want to know that we matter and that we are being heard. So much of our “interaction” these days consistent of technologies that take away the opportunity to HEAR someone and to share their emotion. This is why we challenge you to make the resolution to show others that they matter by giving them the true opportunity to be heard. Once you give someone the gift of listening to them they will be able to trust you and like you, the same then goes for your company.

Take a moment now to think about someone you can call to “check-in” with but really desire to give them the opportunity to speak and for you to listen. Not only will you give that person a feeling of worth but you will gain the credibility, trust and right to a relationship that you deserve. So take a chance! Pick up the phone, make the call and show the humanity!

We would love to hear about your successes and the results of tapping in to the most innate of humans senses. Please leave a comment here or share it on our facebook page www.facebook.com/purecommuniationllc . Keep on dancin’ my friends!
